Our process
Damage walkthrough
We assess what was lost, what can be saved, and what has to be corrected structurally — grade, drainage and soil quality.
Restoration plan
You get a clear scope and written estimate covering soil work, plant replacement and lawn repair, in priority order if needed.
Rebuild
Soil is replaced and graded, plants installed, and lawn areas sodded or seeded to blend with what surrounds them.
Finish and follow-up
Beds are edged and mulched, everything is cleaned up, and we advise on watering while new material establishes.
Restoring Michigan soil after excavation
Excavation in Oakland County usually brings heavy subsoil clay to the surface. Backfilled trenches are also badly compacted, which is why grass over a repaired line so often stays thin and yellow while everything around it is fine.
We remove or amend that surface layer with quality topsoil rather than seeding straight into it, and we allow for settling — trenches keep sinking for months, so grading has to anticipate it.
Freeze-thaw cycling accelerates settling here, which is why restoration done properly the first time saves a second visit the following spring.
