Garden & Planting Installation
Perennials, shrubs and trees installed with proper bed prep, spacing and depth, so your garden fills in the way it was designed to.
Garden installation is the build phase — turning a plan, a sketch or even a rough idea into planted beds. We source healthy nursery stock, prep the soil properly, and set every plant at the right depth and spacing so the garden matures into a full, cohesive planting rather than a row of struggling shrubs.
Most failed plantings we get called to fix were installed too deep, spaced too tightly, or dropped into unamended clay. Getting those fundamentals right at installation is far cheaper than replacing plants two seasons later.

Our process
Plant selection
We confirm the plant list against your conditions and current nursery availability, and show you substitutions if something better is available.
Bed prep
Beds are cut and edged, weeds and old material removed, and soil loosened and amended so roots can move out of the planting hole.
Planting
Everything is placed and reviewed before it goes in the ground, then planted at correct depth with proper spacing for mature size.
Mulch and aftercare
Beds are mulched, watered in and cleaned up, and you get a simple watering schedule for the first season.
Planting timing in Michigan
In Oakland County, spring planting generally runs from the time the ground thaws through early June, and fall planting from late August into October. Fall is an underrated window — cooler air with warm soil lets roots establish without heat stress, and plants come out of dormancy ahead of anything planted the following spring.
Tender annuals wait until after the local last-frost window in mid-May. Trees and shrubs are more forgiving, but we avoid installing them in the hottest stretch of July unless watering can be guaranteed.
First-season watering matters more than fertilizer. New plantings need deep, infrequent soaking rather than daily sprinkling, and we leave you with a clear schedule so nothing is guesswork.
