What we see in Oakland County yards
Homes built here from the 1960s through the 1990s were almost universally landscaped with fast-growing evergreens set too close to the foundation. Forty years on, those shrubs are well past the size they were ever meant to be.
Glossy buckthorn and bush honeysuckle are aggressive invasives throughout southeast Michigan, and both resprout vigorously if only cut at the surface. Removing the root crown is the only removal that actually holds.
Late fall through early spring is easiest for removal, when beds are dormant and soil works cleanly, but we handle removals year-round.
